Snap your plate, send a voice note, or just type it. Olivka reads the meal herself: no database search, no tapping through portions.
Asks when she's unsure
Café-size or mini? Olivka asks instead of guessing like a scan-only app. The longer you log, the sharper she gets.
No app, no login
You chat in WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, or Instagram. Your history dashboard opens with one link.
Warm, no diet
No guilt, no “you went over.” Set a daily calorie and macro target — for losing weight or holding steady — and Olivka keeps you on it.
You're not counting alone. Olivka already counts with thousands of people every day.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Is Olivka free?
Your first meals are free: message Olivka on WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, or Instagram and she'll count them with no card, no account, and nothing to download — enough to see whether photo-based logging fits your day. When the free meals run out, you connect a free account in one tap so your history stays safe. From there Olivka is a paid subscription, and you see the plan and the price at the end of onboarding, before anything is charged. You can delete your data for free at any time, whether you subscribe or not.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
You can cancel at any time — there is no minimum term and no cancellation fee. If you have paid and changed your mind, a 30-day money-back guarantee applies: email support@olivka.app within 30 days of the payment and we will refund it. You do not have to justify the request. Deleting your data is a separate thing and always free, whether you subscribe or not — we wipe your whole history. And if you only want the reminder messages to stop without leaving, send Olivka /nudges_off in the chat.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Olivka works in the app you already use.
How does Olivka count calories?
You send your meal however is easiest — a photo, a voice note, or a line of text — and Olivka works like an AI calorie counter with a nutritionist's reference shelf. A vision model first reads what's on the plate: the dish, the ingredients, and the portions. Each ingredient is then matched against real nutrition databases — USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts, with a web lookup for restaurant and branded items — and your calories, protein, carbs, and fat are calculated from those entries. You get an itemized meal card with Confirm and Edit buttons, so nothing is saved until you've seen it, plus a running daily total. The whole thing takes about ten seconds.
See the full methodologyHow accurate is Olivka?
The honest answer: as accurate as nutrition data allows, and honest about the rest. Printed nutrition labels in the US are legally allowed to be off by up to 20 percent, and EU rules permit similar tolerances — that uncertainty floor applies to every calorie counter, app or not. Olivka builds each estimate from measured database entries instead of guessing, asks a follow-up question when a meal is ambiguous, and shows you an editable card so you can fix anything in seconds. Text with amounts is the most precise, a clear photo of a simple meal is close behind, and mixed dishes carry the widest error bars. Base your decisions on daily and weekly totals, not any single meal.
How we count — the full methodologyIs Olivka suitable for weight loss or building muscle?
Both. Olivka is built around three goals — losing weight, maintaining, or building muscle — and she asks which one you're working toward when you start. She then reads your day accordingly: gentler attention to calories while you're cutting, a closer eye on protein while you're building. What she won't do is put you on a diet or hand you a plan to follow. She counts the food you actually eat and keeps the daily totals honest, and consistent tracking is precisely the part most people give up on. If you want to lose weight, what you need is a moderate calorie deficit and honest counting, not a diet: the free deficit calculator works out a safe number, you set it as your daily target, and Olivka keeps you on it.
Work out your calorie deficitDoes Olivka have a barcode scanner?
No — and for most meals you do not need one. A barcode is only a key into a product database; Olivka reads the label itself instead. Photograph the nutrition panel, say how much you ate ("40 g", say), and she works the portion out from the manufacturer's own figures. Everything a scanner cannot see — a home-cooked dinner, a restaurant plate, half a packet — you log with an ordinary photo of the plate or a single sentence.
How do I get a personalized calorie and macro target?
Olivka doesn't prescribe a diet or invent a target for you — what you need depends on your body and your goals, not on what an assistant guesses. Use the free calculators on this site instead: they run the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, the same one dietitians use, and give you a daily calorie figure plus a protein, carb, and fat split you can work with. Nothing is stored and there is no sign-up. Then keep logging with Olivka — she adds up the calories and macros of everything you eat, so you can see where the day landed against your number.
Free calorie and macro calculatorsHow is Olivka different from a regular tracking app?
In a regular calorie app, every meal means opening the app, searching a food database, and tapping through portion sizes — which is exactly why so many people quit after a week or two. Olivka flips it: you send the meal like a text to a friend, in the messenger you already have open, and she does the searching, matching, and adding up for you. The best calorie counter is the one you actually use every day.
Which apps does it work in?
WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, and Instagram.
Does Olivka judge me?
Never. She logs, counts, and cheers you on, no shame, no “you went over.”
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Email social@olivka.app and we'll wipe your whole history.

Do You Need a Barcode Scanner to Count Calories?
A scanner is the fastest, most exact way to log food that is still in its packet — and no help with anything cooked, plated or served. How much of your week that covers is the whole decision.
